Andaman and Nicobar Islands Andaman and Nicobar islands are one of the seven union territories of India, which is a group of stable islands in the Bay of Bengal. This centrally located region is separated by Indonesia and the Andaman Sea in the south from the islands of Thailand and Myanmar. From 1788 to 1784, the people of Aostia made this colony here and named the island Theresia Islands.

In 1789 Lord Cornwallis of the British sent Cole Brook and Mr. Blair to these islands. They settled in Batham Island where the oldest jigsaw of Asia is found.The location proposed by Blair was first selected after observing several locations. From 1858, the British started making their colonies in Port Blair, which they had built for permanent residence.
